3Com Etherlink/MC

Network RH-4MZX

Introduced in 1988, the 3Com 3C523 brought high-performance Ethernet to IBM’s PS/2 Micro Channel systems. Supporting both AUI and BNC connections, it could be used with thick Ethernet, thin Ethernet or external transceivers, making it suitable for a wide range of network installations. At a time when networking was becoming essential in business, the 3C523 reflected 3Com’s reputation for reliability and broad compatibility, and became one of the most common Ethernet adapters for MCA-equipped PCs and servers.
