IBM PS/2 Model 80

RH-TJ8E

Introduced in 1987, the IBM PS/2 Model 80 was IBM’s flagship Micro Channel workstation and the first IBM PC to use Intel’s 80386 processor. It showcased technologies that would define high-end PCs for years, including 32-bit computing, advanced memory management and high-performance graphics options. Although Micro Channel was ultimately rejected by the wider clone market, the Model 80 remains one of IBM’s most technically ambitious and influential personal computers, prized today for its engineering and distinctive architecture.
