Trident 7139

Video RH-PZK2

The TVGA8900D represents the peak of Trident’s ISA graphics chipsets. While it retained the excellent compatibility and low cost that made the earlier 8900C ubiquitous, the 8900D significantly improved memory performance and added efficient 1 MB linear addressing, making it one of the fastest ISA VGA solutions of its era. Although enthusiasts often favoured Tseng ET4000 cards, the 8900D proved Trident could deliver strong performance as well as value before the industry’s move to VLB and PCI graphics.
