The Diamond Stealth 24 brought S3’s 2D graphics acceleration to the mainstream at a relatively affordable price. It was aimed at users who spent as much time in Windows as DOS, offering noticeably faster window drawing, scrolling and screen updates than earlier VGA cards. Although not the fastest accelerator available, it helped establish S3-based graphics as the benchmark for business PCs and Windows performance during the early 1990s.
