The 1570 illustrates how Super VGA matured into an inexpensive commodity. Based on Oak’s OTI077 chipset, it added higher resolutions and support for up to 1 MB of video memory, yet remained focused on compatibility and low cost rather than outright speed. Cards like this became common in 386 and 486 systems, providing capable Windows graphics without the expense of premium accelerators from Tseng, ATI or S3.
