Seagate ST-124
Introduced in the late 1980s, the Seagate ST-124 and ST-125 were 3.5-inch MFM hard drives offering around 20 MB of formatted capacity, helping accelerate the industry’s transition from bulky 5.25-inch mechanisms to more compact designs. Sharing identical storage capacity, the ST-125 featured a faster 28 ms average seek time versus the ST-124’s 40 ms, making it the higher-performance model. They became popular in IBM PC/AT compatibles, earning a reputation for reliability and widespread availability.
