Grid GRiDCASE 2 (Philips PC200)
RH-Y0XDGRiD invented the clamshell laptop: the 1982 Compass was the first, it flew on the Space Shuttle, and it cost as much as a car. The GRiDCASE carried that into a rugged magnesium case built for the military and for field engineers, which is why so many survive. Genuinely important design history rather than another beige portable, and the reason every laptop since opens the way it does.
